Sherlock and Moriarty

Spoilers

I find it fascinating that I still haven’t posted anything about Sherlock. Which is one of my very favourite television series. Therefore, I have decided to discuss something which a lot of people do not understand and are still speculating over.

Okay, so, after two years of seeing Sherlock jump off of that building, but then appearing at his own tombstone. We were finally given an explanation to how he survived the clutches of death, kind of. We had three explanations given in the episode The Empty Hearse. One of them; involving Moriarty’s body and a perfect face mask of Benedict Cumberbatch’s face. The other; involving a, quite frankly, terrible Sherlock dummy, alongside a hero villain kiss. And the final, involving an awesome bouncy castle and the old squashball under the armpit trick.

Now, the difference between these three theories is that they were all created by different people. One, by Anderson, the other by a random fan with a nose-ring, Scottish accent and a lust for gay fanfiction, and the last by Sherlock. The thing is that Sherlock didn’t actually clarify that that last one was true. Which is very interesting and has actually led to this speculation. In my opinion, I think that the last one was true. At least to a certain extent. I think that the squash ball, at least, was used. The first one is a decent enough guess, and it was right in the speculation that Molly knew of Sherlock being alive. However, a lot of things don’t make sense in it. The body couldn’t be taken down to the ground that quickly. The window was still intact when John came to the body. There was no rope and nowhere that it could’ve been attached to. As for the second one… just… yeah. That’s definitely not how it worked. To be honest though, it would’ve been pretty funny if it did.

And now on to Moriarty. It is revealed, at the very end of series 3 that the consulting criminal, Sherlock’s arch nemesis, the primary antagonist has returned from beyond the veil of death. But how? That is something that no fan is completely sure of. However I do think that it will probably have been a body double or something of the sorts. It can’t be too crazy, as it’s very real world. So there can only be a few ways that he could fake a gunshot wound to the head. Yeah, I’m definitely excited to see how he survived. I hope he mentions it in the return of the show.

I hope you liked this post and the kind of post. Comment if you want to see more Sherlock and comment what your theory is of how these two survived.

Thanks for reading 🙂
